Claire and Jason chat about the importance of Family ministry within the Church.
Here are some key things to think about:
Family Ministry encompasses all the usual ministries such as Kids, Youth, Young Adults, but it is about the intergenerational relationship.
It is Important for families to be able to come into church and see themselves.
As well as Weddings, Baptisms and Dedications it is looking at the whole Church picture and joining the dots between all the generations.
Opportunities:
- Opportunities for Family Time in all aspects of church life
- Make them feel valued in the Church.
Accessibility:
- How can we make things accessible such as; Life Groups and prayer meetings for those with young children?
- Meet families where they are at and their needs. This might look like a Saturday morning family life group.
Resource:
- Resourcing families to be able to be a part of the church at home as well as at church
- Give families the confidence that they can do it as well by equipping them with the tools and skills for. At home.
Claire shares the following quote:
‘If we don’t teach our children the ways of Christ, the world will teach them not to.’
We need to model Christian values not just as parents but as figures within the Church.
