Bereavement Support

Care for the Family is a UK charity committed to strengthening family life. The impact when things go wrong can be devastating, but we believe every family should have somewhere to turn to in the tough times and put down strong roots in the good times to see through the storms when they come.

We provide support, online and in person, for parents, couples and those who are bereaved, through events, courses, podcasts, volunteer befrienders, books and other evidence-based, accessible resources. We also train those who work with families whether in a church community or professional capacity.

We want to offered specialist support to those who are facing challenges in family life.

Bereaved Adult Sibling Support

Losing a brother or sister early in life is something no one expects – it changes everything. The gap they leave is huge.

Our online support day offers understanding, encouragement and support to any adult sibling in the UK who has lost a brother or sister in any circumstance and at any age.

This event is a wonderful opportunity to meet and share with others and is aimed mainly at anyone in their 20s and 30s living with loss after the death of a sibling.

The comfortable and relaxed environment creates a safe space to meet and share with others whose brother or sister has died, discover strategies to cope with life, and build resilience for the future.

Bereavement Care Awareness Training for Churches

Do you know what to say to someone who is bereaved?

We recognise the profound and personal impact that bereavement can have, and the growing need for compassionate, informed support within our communities.

In many cases, the church is uniquely placed to walk alongside people after the funeral, offering comfort and support at a time when it is needed most. However, knowing where to begin, or how best to help, can feel overwhelming when supporting someone through what can potentially be one of the most difficult times in their lives.

Our Bereavement Care Awareness Training is designed to equip and encourage you in this important role. Whether you are new to supporting bereaved individuals or already have experience, this training will provide practical guidance, deeper understanding, and increased confidence to care for those navigating grief and loss.
